About Mr. Gowell
I am a graduate of National-Louis University, having earned my master’s degree in elementary education, and best can be described as a "career changer." Many years ago, I received my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Northwestern University in their School of Communication. For over a decade, I worked in the University’s Office of Undergraduate Admission as senior assistant director and coordinator of their recruitment and admission publications and materials.
While raising both my son and daughter, I published a popular Webcomic— which you can see samples of here. I also created and illustrated an all-ages graphic novel, Kid Houdini and the Silver-Dollar Misfits, published through Viper Comics.
My wife, Edie, and I have lived in Skokie for over 20 years and frequently can be seen out and about with our two children—especially at our favorite destination, the Skokie Public Library.
